About the event

Lori Lansens talks about The Wife's Tale

On Tuesday, November 3, from 6 to 7 PM, Random House of Canada invited avid readers to join a unique interactive live-streamed video event with beloved, international bestselling author, Lori Lansens. Lori read from her new book, The Wife's Tale, before joining a live chat with readers from across Canada, and with the lucky Booklounge VIP winners who attended the reception at The Academy of Spherical Arts in Toronto.

The evening was in celebration of The Wife's Tale being chosen as the first featured selection of the new Stoneleigh® New Zealand Wines and BookClubs.ca partnership. Guests at the reception were treated to delicious Stoneleigh® Wine selections, and the final portion of the event with Lori offered those in attendance an opportunity to speak with the author.

About the book

The Wife's Tale

A brilliant new novel - deeply humane and entirely convincing - from Lori Lansens, author of two previous bestsellers and a writer who can be counted on to deliver an amazing story and characters to fall in love with.

In Lori Lansens' Leaford, Ontario - home of Rose and Ruby Darlen, the sorrowing parents of Larry Merkel, and not far from Rusholme where Addy Shadd once looked after an abandoned child - love and grief combine to awaken an obese woman from her loneliness. When her husband doesn't come home on the eve of their 25th wedding anniversary, Mary Gooch, who has never learned to be self-sufficient, sets out on a truly remarkable journey of self-discovery that takes her first to the big city and then to another country.
